Q: How to install the App?

• Via QR Code Scanning:
• Find the QR code on the product manual of Valour watch 1 R for installing the boAt Crest App on your device.
• Open the QR Code Scanner app on your device and scan the code present on the user manual as well as inside the watch settings.
• Thereafter, follow the on-screen instructions to install the boAt Crest app on your device.
• Via Searching the app on Google Play or Apple Play Store:
• On Google Play or the Apple App Store, in the search bar, type ‘boAt Crest’ and enter search.
• You will see the boAt Crest app in the search result list.
• Click on the install button to install the boAt Crest app on your media device.

Q: How to connect the device with the App?

• First, make sure that your phone version is either on Android 7.0 and above or iOS 12 and above.
• Download the boAt Crest application from Play Store (Android) and AppStore (iOS).
• When you open the app, please allow all permissions.
• Register with your mobile number by accepting the terms and conditions.
• You will receive a verification code as an SMS; enter the verification code in the app.
• Follow the instructions on the App and you will find Valour watch 1 R smartwatch in the available device list.
• Click on the watch1R\_XXXX to pair the Smartwatch with your phone.
• This will complete the pairing process after which the smartwatch will start syncing with the app.

Q: How to sync the data with the smart watch?

• ​Your smartwatch’s data is automatically synced when you open the boAt Crest app. This may take a few seconds.​
• ​For manual syncing, go to the app and click on “Tap to Sync” to trigger immediate data transfer. ​​If this doesn’t work – ​
• ​Open the Crest app and keep the watch within Bluetooth range, i.e., less than 10 metres.​
• ​Ensure the Bluetooth and R are enabled on your phone.​
• ​Allow the app to run in the background. ​

Q: What permissions are needed for proper syncing?

• ​General permissions are needed on Android and iOS devices as below:​
• ​On Android: ​
• ​Go to Settings > Apps > Crest > Permissions​
• ​Enable permissions for Location, Contacts, Phone, and Notifications.​
• ​On iOS: ​
• ​Go to Settings > Privacy​
• ​Grant access to the Crest app for relevant permissions like Bluetooth and Notifications. ​

Q: How to log out from the app?

• ​Open the boAt Crest app.​
• ​Tap on your profile icon located at the top-right corner of the home screen.​
• ​Scroll down and tap “Log Out”.​
• ​Confirm the logout action in the pop-up prompt.​

Q: What happens when I log out of the app?

• ​Your smartwatch will be disconnected from your phone.​
• ​The watch will stop syncing data with the app.​
• ​You will stop receiving notifications on the watch.​
• To regain access, you will need to log in again with your connected account (e.g., Google or email) and verify with a one-time password (OTP).​

Q: What all data would be synced with Apple Health/Google Fit?

• Only Steps data will be synced with the Apple Health and Google Fit apps.

Q: Can I use the watch out of range of my phone’s Bluetooth?

• Yes, step counting, heart rate monitoring, calorie count and sports modes can be recorded directly on your watch while your phone is not connected.
• The watch has some internal memory to record this data.
• Once you are in contact with your phone, you can sync the data to the app.

Charging & Battery Life

Q: How to Power On/Off the watch?

• Power On: Long press the power button (also known as Functional Crown / Upper side button) for 3-5 seconds until the screen lights up.
• Power Off: Long press the power button for 3-5 seconds. Swipe on the screen to confirm the Power Off action.

Q: How to charge the watch?

• ​Attach the magnetic end of the charging cable, which comes with the watch package, to the charging pad of the watch located on the back of the watch.
• Connect the other end of the cable which is a USB-A end to a 5V/ 2A rated power adapter power bank or a computer.
• Valour watch 1 R’s display will show the charging status and charging percentage while charging.
• Note: If Valour watch 1 R is connected to a computer USB port for charging, the speed of charging will be less, as the power pushed by the USB port of a computer is less than a 5V/2A rated power adapter.

Q: What are the charging norms and guidelines?

• ​Before using Valour watch 1 R for the first time, please fully charge the smartwatch first.
• Charging through wall adapter – Specs of the adapter: 5V/2A
• Any other accessory can be used for charging Valour watch 1 R as long as the above norms are followed.

Display, Features & Performance

Q: How to select the watch face?

• Method 1: Using the Power Button (Upper Side Button)
• Rotate the upper side button to scroll through the default watch faces.
• Stop on the one you want to apply to, it will be set automatically.
• Method 2: Long Press on the Home Screen
• Long-press the home screen for a few seconds.
• Swipe to browse available watch faces.
• Tap the one you want to set as default.
• Note: There are 5 default watch faces available on the watch.

Q: How to control the screen brightness?

• Tap on Brightness to adjust the screen brightness.
• Drag the slider to increase or decrease the screen brightness.

Health, Calling & Microphone

Q: What are the call functions?

• Dialer: You can use the dialler to dial any number.
• Phone Book: Add up to 20 contacts from the boAt Crest app. You can select any contact to directly dial from the contacts of the watch. To add a contact, Go to Crest App > Bluetooth Calling > Your Synced Contacts > Add Contacts > Save Contacts.
• Call History: You can find recently received, missed, and outgoing call logs in the Call History of the watch.

Q: How to set the daily step target?

• Open the ‘boAt Crest’ app.
• Go to Profile > My goals.
• Tap on the ‘Edit’ option in the Step Goal card.
• You can set your daily step target in the ‘Your Steps Goal’ section and tap on ‘Update Steps Goal’ to update the step target.
• Note: The steps can also be modified later according to your convenience.

Q: How to track the heart rate?

• Tap the heart rate icon to check real-time heart rate.
• Click on the “Measure” to start the heart rate measurements. The feature lets you monitor your Current Beats Per Minute (BPM), Max BPM, Min BPM, and Resting BPM.
• Users can also view the detailed data on the boAt Crest app.
• Note: Measurements are for reference only and not for medical purposes.

Q: How to measure the blood oxygen level (Spo2)?

• SpO2 measures how much oxygen your blood is carrying as a percentage of the maximum it could carry. Wear the watch on your wrist, then click on the Measure option to start measuring the SpO2 monitoring. You can also view the data on the app.

Device Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: How to factory reset?

• To reset your smartwatch, go to Settings > System > Factory Reset
• Alternatively, on the home screen – Swipe down > Settings icon > System > Factory Reset.

Q: How to access the main menu?

• From the watch Home Screen, short press the power button once to open the Main Menu. Rotate the same to scroll through the main menu.

Q: How to access the shortcut menu?

• Swipe down from the Home Screen to access the Quick Menu for frequently used features. It includes Settings, Battery Saver, SOS, DND, Layout, Wake Gesture, Brightness, Silent Mode, Flashlight, Bedtime Mode, Always On Display, Find Phone, Navigation, Power Off/Restart, and Phone Book.
• The Quick Menu also displays the battery percentage, Bluetooth connectivity status, date, and day. Swipe left or right to view more shortcuts.

Q: How to check the notifications?

• You can check all the notifications from your connected device.

Q: How to track the exercises through sports mode?

• From the Home Screen, short press the Lower Side Button once to access the Activities menu. The Valour Watch 1R supports a wide range of built-in sports modes, designed for both indoor and outdoor training.
• The available activity modes include Walking, Running, Treadmill, Indoor Cycling, Elliptical Trainer, Rope Skipping, Rowing Machine, Pilates, Karate, Yoga, Mediation, Dancing, Badminton, Basketball, Gym Workout, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Handball, Roller Skating, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Archery, Softball, Kabaddi, Frisbee Playing, Hiking, and Mountain Climbing.

Q: How to control the music?

• Tap on the Music Control icon on your watch to control music playback from a connected device. You can perform the following actions:
• Play/Pause the track
• Skip to the Next or Previous track
• Adjust the Volume Up or Volume Down
• Note: Ensure your watch is connected to your phone via Bluetooth. Some music apps with different control protocols may not be supported.

Q: How to access the camera control feature?

• Open the Crest app to use the remote camera option.
• Next, tap on the ‘Camera Control’ on your smartwatch to click a picture.
• You can also set a duration from 1 second to 10 seconds, after which your phone’s camera will click a picture.

Q: What is “Stress Mode”?

• Your stress can be recorded according to the heart rate variability.
• 1-29 % relax; 30-59% normal; 60-79% medium; 80-99% high

Q: What are the different modes / options available on the watch? How to access them?

• While the user is inside the menu, tapping several icons would lead to entering the different modes on Valour Watch 1 R. There are the following mode options on the menu of Valour Watch 1 R –
• Heart Rate – This is used to measure the heart rate of the users.
• Activity – This feature allows the user to check the step count, calories burnt, and distance covered.
• Sleep Monitor – For reviewing the user’s sleep data for the previous night
• Stress – This is used to measure the stress level of the user.
• Breath Exercise – For breathing exercises of the users
• Weather – To get the weather forecast and updates on the go
• Calendar – For users to check their schedule and upcoming events.
• Music – For users to conveniently listen to their favorite tunes
• SpO2 – For users to measure blood oxygen levels, which can help you understand your respiratory health
• HRV – For users to check always-changing interval between heartbeats.

Q: There are green and red lights blinking on the bottom side of the watch. What are those for?

• The green lights are used to monitor your heart rate. There is an optical sensor that detects the passage of the blood and then estimates the heart rate based on that information.
• Red light is a blood oxygen sensor.

Q: Can we set a background image on the watch?

• Users can also set the background image to any selected watch face from the app.

Q: Is the smart watch water proof?

• No, the smartwatch is not waterproof. It is water-resistant and can withstand splashes, sweat, and light rain, but should not be used for swimming or deep water exposure.
