Most online retailers have this facility but only with credit cards. According to RBI, there are only 3.14 crore credit cardholders compared to 79.38 crore debit cardholders. Hence it is natural to think of Mobile on EMI without the credit card, i.e., EMI with the debit card. Fortunately, Flipkart and Amazon have come up with this facility.

At present Amazon has partnered with HDFC. Axis and ICICI bank for Debit Card EMI. Unlike Flipkart, all HDFC debit cardholders are eligible to purchase with EMI.

How to buy in EMI without Credit card on Amazon
- Login to your Amazon account.
- Go to the product page you want to buy. Search your favorite here:
- In payment page, enter your card details
- Select number of months for EMIs.
- Complete the payment by submitting the OTP.

Notes:
Unlike credit cards, the entire order amount isn’t blocked on your account card. Amazon will use the pre-approved overdraft facility enabled by your bank for your purchase on Amazon.in. Depending upon your EMI tenure your installment will be deducted as follows-
- If an order is placed between 1st and 19th (both the dates inclusive) of a month, then the first installment will be due on 5th of the following month.
- If an order is placed between 21st and 31st (both the dates inclusive) of a month, then the first installment will be due on 5th of the subsequent following month.
If you cancel or return an order purchased using EMI (including, Credit Card No Cost EMI) Amazon will refund the entire purchase amount to you immediately and the EMI will be canceled. You will then need to contact your bank to confirm how the EMI scheme on your credit card has been modified, or for any queries on foreclosure.

Partner Banks
At present, Flipkart partners with Axis Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank to offer Debit Card EMI facility to customers. The Debit Card EMI option is available to select Flipkart customers at the discretion of the bank partner.
Eligible for Debit Card EMI?
The Debit Card EMI option from Flipkart is currently available for selected customers who are pre-approved by the bank partners. Eligibility is determined by the bank partner based on the customer’s past transaction history and relationship with the bank.
Note: If you are not able to see Debit Card EMI option then you should first add your debit card details in “My Profile” menu of your login. Follow the links as:

App: Menu>My Account>My Wallet and Cards(view details)>Add New Card
How to buy mobile in EMI without Credit card in Flipkart
To check if you are eligible for Debit Card EMI
- Login to your Flipkart account.
- Go to the product page you want to buy. Search your favorite here:
- If you are eligible for Debit Card EMI, you will see this option in payment options as below:
- If Debit Card EMI option is available, add the product to cart and checkout. Select EMI(Easy Installments) as shown below:
- In the final step of check out select your pre-approved bank as the payment option:
- In next step select number of months, e.g. 6, 9, 12 months, enter your Debit Card details with CVV.
- You will receive the OTP on your registered mobile. Submit the OTP and complete the order.

The minimum purchase amount applicable for Debit Card EMI is ₹5,000 ICICI Bank, Rs. 8,000 for Axis Bank and SBI and Rs. 10,000 for HDFC Bank.
